Dr. Riggs believes every individual is unique and different. He does not believe in fixed numbers of visits to fix a problem (for example everyone has to come in 30 times to get better). His approach is to work to restore your health as fast as possible.

    WHAT ARE MY TREATMENT OPTIONS?

Several treatment plans are offered depending on your preferences, financial situation and condition.
1.PAIN CONTROL/ACUTE CARE: This option allows you to treat until your pain is resolved or at a level you desire to live with. Generally, treatment involves initial care of a 1-3 weeks of treatment 3-5 times a week to get your pain down to a tolerable level. Treatment may consist of manipulation (low force or traditional depending on your preferences) and possibly physical modalities (therapies) such as electrical stimulation, temperature therapy, ultrasound, etc. Some patients prefer to just get out of pain and come back when they need it again.
    2. CHRONIC/REHABILITATIVE CARE: Long standing problems generally require more of a commitment to time, effort, and cost to correct. After your pain is to a tolerable level, rehabilitation activities can take place. This may involve specific exercises in the clinic or at home to properly heal injured tissue. It may also involve training in balance and posture, strengthening core muscle groups, home stretches, and periodic manipulation (adjustments). Treatment frequency may range from 3 times a week (for those doing rehab) to once a week depending on your case or situation.
    3. WELLNESS CARE: Wellness care requires a commitment by the patient to continue improving their health. Home exercises, nutritional and dietary changes, and a commitment to keeping the body healthy is required. Prevention Care, which involves periodic adjustments, may require treatment anywhere from 2 times a month to once every 6 to 8 weeks. You may be advised to lose weight, increase physical activity, stop smoking, or change other bad habits. Nutritional counseling for non-drug methods to reducing cholesterol, triglyerides, control arthritic pain and inflammation, and improve overall well being, and other chronic lifestyle conditions is available.
    4. AS NEEDED CARE: Some patients come in for care as they need it.
